Delete your Smash account

Last updated

You can delete your Smash account and its data at any time. This page exists so you can find out how without installing the app, and it is the URL we give the app stores.

Before you delete

Cancel any Premium subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — billing is handled by the App Store or Google Play, and only the store can stop it. Cancel in App Store → Subscriptions or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. A lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel.

Take a copy if you want one. Profile → Export my data downloads a JSON file of your profile, players, matches, clubs, memberships and tournaments. There is no way to restore an account afterwards.

How to delete it

In the app: open the Profile tab, scroll to Danger zone, tap Delete account, confirm, then type DELETE. The deletion runs immediately and signs you out.

Without the app: if you have lost access to your device, email

jathanscreatives@gmail.com from the address you signed in with. We verify that the request comes from the account holder and then run the same deletion, normally within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in record, including your email address and provider identity.
  • Your profile document, preferences and subscription record.
  • Every match you own, including its full point-by-point log.
  • Every player record you created.
  • Every club you own.
  • Your club memberships, plus memberships in anyone else's club that refer to players you created, so your players' names do not linger in another club's list.
  • Every public share link for those matches, players and clubs — a link shared earlier stops resolving.
  • Join requests you sent, and join requests other people sent to your clubs.
  • Profile photos, club photos and tournament covers you uploaded.
  • The link between your account and any player record another user created for you and you claimed. Their record stays on their roster (see below); it just no longer points at your account.

What is not deleted

Being honest about the edges matters more than a clean list:

  • Matches other people recorded. If someone else scored a match against you, that match belongs to their account and stays there, with the player name they typed. Ask them to delete it, or write to us and we will pass the request on.
  • Tournaments. Tournaments you organised, and their public links, are shared with the people playing in them, so account deletion does not remove them today. Email us if you want one taken down.
  • Rating history and badges recorded under your deleted player records. These are kept as the audit trail behind other players' ratings; they hold scores and rating changes, not your name or email.
  • Your name and photo on players other people linked to you. If another user added you to their roster and you claimed that record, it carries your account name and photo. Deletion unlinks it from your account but does not rewrite the name or photo; the other user can edit or delete it, or write to us.
  • Ratings other players earned from matches against you are not rewound.
  • Purchase records held by Apple, Google and our subscription processor RevenueCat, under their own retention policies.
  • Backups and logs. Operational backups and server logs roll off on their own schedule, within 90 days.

If the deletion partly fails — for example the sign-in record goes but a document does not — contact us and we will finish it by hand.
